How they are built
Built for hot, and for hotter
Our units are built for a hot, tropical climate — not designed elsewhere and shipped here to cope. Four things make the difference in a Top End build-up.
EPS cooling panels
The crucial element is the fabricated wall panel, which contributes to an impressive eight-star energy rating. It is the same proven technology used in cool rooms and freezers. Termite resistant, fire resistant and water resistant, with no painting to maintain and no wall cracks down the track.
Double glazed windows
Two panes with a sealed air gap between them, so daylight comes in and radiant heat stays out. It also cuts road and neighbourhood noise noticeably.
Roof cooling panel and third layer roof sheet
The roof is where a Territory house wins or loses. Ours combines a cooling panel with an additional third layer of roof sheet, so the ceiling space never becomes the oven that drives your power bill.
Mitsubishi air conditioning installed
Fitted and commissioned in our factory before the unit is delivered — a name you can get serviced in Darwin, not an unbranded unit nobody will touch.

Since 2006
A Territory family business, eighteen years in
Affordable and Easy Homes began as a family-owned company in 2006, when a father and his three sons entered the import market with a toy business trading as Ash Toys. In 2007 they expanded into importing furniture, which became known as Albatat Furniture. Eighteen years of buying direct from overseas manufacturers taught the family what a product should actually cost — and how much of a retail price is simply margin stacked along the way. That experience i…
